The Future in Music Mentorship Program

The Fall 2023 Mentorship Program is currently underway. Applications for Fall 2024 will become available in June 2024.

The Future in Music Program is a mentorship program that aims at making the process of applying and auditioning for music programs at universities, colleges and conservatories more accessible. The mentorship program is for people who are marginalized on the basis of gender in the brass-playing world (which includes women, transgender people, non-binary people, and others). The program pairs mentors who are undergraduate/graduate students studying a brass instrument at a music school with high school students who are interested in pursuing music in the future, with the aim of supporting and mentoring these high school students through the application and audition process. The program runs from the end of August through late fall - during the most stressful audition/application prep time.

The program is completely free - the aim is simply to provide support and resources to students wanting to audition for music school and uplift underrepresented groups of brass players.
